Strategies for the SAT and ACT are just like playing Monopoly!
I love to play Monopoly, but it wasn't until I learned the simple strategy of buying as many houses and hotels to win the game, did I realize how easy it was to outsmart my opponent! Unless, of course, he/she had the same strategy. Yet, I still won a lot more Monopoly games by using that simple strategy.
Same thing with "winning" or scoring high on the SAT and ACT tests. It comes down to having the best strategies for taking the test. |

Give and receive the best to your child by investing in his/her educational experiences.
Give your child as many opportunities as possible to learn and explore the community in which you live. Attend a special holiday event together.
Receive the ah-ha moments as learning curves. The experience may enlighten everyone!

Teenagers enjoy reading but not when it is mandated. This sounds obvious but how often do teenagers choose a novel to read for a class assignment? If given the choice, would your child choose to readHamlet?
Find out what your teen enjoys reading. Make a family list of book titles such as "What I Want to Read" and "What I Recommend". Each family member lists their preferred book titles and shares them with the rest of the family. Perhaps start a family book club and share once a month the chosen book read by each family member. |
